5 Asian Mascaras for incredible lashes
Just like many of you, mascara is part of my daily makeup routine. My eyelashes are very short, very thin, and always need a lift and volume. Join my giveaway and win a mascara of your choice!
Hera’s Generlash is the priciest in this list, but also an eternal repurchase and my all-time favorite mascara. It’s the kind of mascara where one coat already makes a huge difference and is perfect for both a beautiful day-time look and full-on evening look. It’s brush is perfect at separating even the tiniest lashes, while the formula does an incredible job at elongating them and giving them plenty of volume. The formula also contains nourishing, lengthening and strengthening ingredients. Another thing I love about it is that it doesn’t clump, flake or smudge at all even after several coats. Have I mentioned how it holds the curl all day long, even without an eyelash curler?
Country/Type : Korea, High-End
Love : Everything. Doesn’t clump, doesn’t flake, doesn’t smudge, doesn’t give spider legs even after 3 coats, extremely waterproof, gives an incredible amount of volume and definition, highly pigmented.
Dislike : A little hard to remove even with a good eye makeup remover.
Isehan Kiss Me Heroine Mascara Long And Curl was a real surprise to me as I purchased it randomly without having much information about it. It doesn’t give you that false-lash effect nor plenty of volume as promised since it isn’t really buildable, but this mascara is definitely perfect for daytime/office-appropriate wear. I find it a little bit expensive for a drugstore mascara, but the formula truly lengthen, lift, slightly thicken your lashes and holds the curl all day long. The only thing I am not too thrilled about is the flaking, otherwise it is pretty much a mascara everyone should have in their makeup pouch!
The product has been recently reformulated, and while it’s not for everyone, most of us find it even more lengthening. This mascara scored a 4.3/5 on makeupalley and a 4/5 on amazon, that’s how amazing it is.
Country/Type : Japan, Drugstore
Love : Easily removable | Gives a nice amount of length, definition and curl | Doesn’t smudge.
Dislike : May clumps because of the excess product on the wand | Very wet formula | Flakes | A little bit pricey for a drugstore mascara | Not buildable (2 coats maximum if you don’t want spider legs lashes)
Kate Black Feather Lash & Lash Maximizer are a winning duo if you’re after crazy voluminous, long, fluttery black eyelashes just as if you’re wearing falsies. The Lash Maximizer is a lash primer made of white fibers to lengthen and thicken lashes before mascara. It’s quite similar to the Too Faced Better Than False Lashes and the Urban Decay Perversion/Subversion duo, but unlike the TF’s this one doesn’t create spider legs and provides real volumizing & lengthening results, and it’s cheaper than the UD’s. The mascara itself is quite nice on its own even without the Lash Maximizer as it gives length and curl with only one coat. Another thing I highly appreciate from this mascara is the two-sided brush. The flat side provides volume while the curvy/thicker side provides length.
Country/Type : Japan, Mid-End
Love : Intense black color | Doesn’t smudge | Doesn’t clump | Truly waterproof | Provides amazing lentgh, definition, curl and volume | Affordable price | Fibers don’t give spider lashes even after several coats
Dislike : None.
Etude House Lash Perm All Shockcara is, despite it’s name, only a little bit thickening but truly crazy lengthening. It is the only mascara I have tried so far that gives me that much length and definition with only one coat. It doesn’t clump even after several layers, but it does smudge a little bit by the end of the day. The only thing I dislike about this mascara would be the very sturdy plastic wand (similar to the Benefit Roller Lash) as I find it to be a little painful for the waterline.
Country/Type : Korea, Drugstore
Love : Affordable | Nice packaging | Very lengthening, | Doesn’t clump
Dislike : The sturdy wand | Smudges a little bit by the end of the day.
Laneige Jet Curling Mascara EX is an incredible highly pigmented mascara that lifts, curls and separates even the straightest of lashes without smudging or clumping all day long. Instead of water this mascara is formulated with a lightweight gel to truly lift and hold the curl. If it was just a little bit more thickening I would maybe have liked it better than the Hera Generlash.
Infos : Pictures coming soon, I lost this mascara and had to repurchase a new one.
