My 538 Square Foot Apartment in Paris + Skincare & makeup storage tour

My new flat in Paris is only 538 sq ft, but guess what? I love it.

It’s only been four months since I left London to move in my new apartment in Paris, and while it was a very difficult transition in the beginning I absolutely love it. It’s very small but we managed to make it very functional and minimalist, and this is exactly what we wanted. It’s very luminous, quiet, always tidy, packed with storage and style. Since it’s a rental and we’re only going to live in here for a year or two we tried our best to make it not too personal, but still warm and cosy.

livingroomtour7_sunhyemiWhile Ikea may not makes the best-looking sofas in the world, they are often very comfy and versatile. This white faux-leather sofa bed is very small space-friendly and has a wide storage space underneath the chaise that is ideal for bedding. We originally wanted to get a sofa like this one, but we couldn’t find any at a decent price.

Right now I can’t get enough of mirrors. I just love mirrors, a lot. I originally wanted the whole wall covered with mirrors, with the TV wall-mounted but our landlord wasn’t too keen on the idea. Instead we decided to hang a few Stave mirrors from Ikea to make the space looks bigger and even more luminous.

livingroomtour3_sunhyemiWe use our dining room as a multipurpose room to make the most of our space. Our bathroom and bedroom are very small and lack storage space, hence the dining room serves as my beauty spot, as a dining area (obviously) when we have guests over, as a home office but also as a sleeping spot for our GSD as you can see on the photo below.

livingroomtour4_sunhyemiThis sumptuous mirrored console contains most of my hair and wigs makeup. Unlike our tiny, dark and windowless bathroom, the living room is very luminous and is the perfect spot for me to do my makeup. The faux-leather white Ottoman doubles up as a hair-products storage, and as a home office storage.

livingroomtour5_sunhyemiDespite appearances, the Malm chest of drawers does not contain any dishes but part of it contains my skincare products. A living room is probably the most uncommon place to store your skincare products, but again this was the best choice for me. Thanks to the Malm, I managed to fit in everything I needed without the room being cluttered.

Decorating a home doesn’t happen overnight, but we don’t stress over it and instead just enjoy how everything looks at the moment.

God your place is AMAZING! I’m so jealous… Do you still keep your makeup/skincare in your living room or is your bathroom done already? πŸ™‚

      Hi Aria,

All of my makeup is still in the mirrored vanity, but I finally moved my skincare products in my bathroom. πŸ™‚

Your apartment looks so amazing. I love the modern and minimalist style! I also really love white furniture, because you can always add a pop of colour with decorations.
